NOKIA recently launched a revamped version of its hugely popular 3310 model at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The phone has the basic call and text message functions, and has also been upgraded with a 2-megapixel camera, a larger 2.4-inch screen in color, web browsing with a limited range of apps, a headphone jack, and best of all – 22-hour battery life.

Some may argue its best feature is a modernized game of ‘Snake’, though.

However, the phone relies on 2G networks, which have been or are being phased out in Australia, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the U.S.

But many emerging markets still rely on 2G technology, especially in areas where connectivity is limited and modern infrastructure is harder to come by.

The Nokia 3310 is priced at €49 (about US$51), making it much more affordable compared to premium smartphones.
